Sleep and I have had an adversarial relationship since I was a child so the dreams I remember tend to be very vivid and sometimes life changing, as the past life dream which inspired the story “Safety.” I am seldom myself in my dreams and there is usually a narrative quality to them so I use dreams as inspiration to write both short stories and novels.

Oddly enough, a dream about two female zombies having sex earned me my first published story. My flash fiction story “Honey” was published in the anthology “Rigor Amortis.” I find this highly amusing every time I think about it.
